چکیده

We perform a global Bayesian analysis of a modern event-by-event heavy-ion collision model and LHC data at √ s = 2.76 and 5.02 TeV. After calibration, the model simultaneously describes multiplicity, transverse momentum, and flow data at both beam energies. We report new constraints on the scaling of initial-state entropy deposition and QGP transport coefficients, including a quantitative estimate of the temperature-dependent shear viscosity (η/s)(T ).

Charged particle production in Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions at ALICE

Global event observables are of fundamental importance in characterizing the properties of the strongly interacting medium created in heavy-ion collisions. The ALICE experiment at LHC measured charged particle multiplicity distributions in Pb-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV in a wide pseudo-rapidity range (−5 < η < 5.5) exploiting different techniques. The production of high transverse moment...

Heavy-Quark Kinetics in the QGP at LHC

We present predictions for the nuclear modification factor and elliptic flow of D and B mesons, as well as of their decay electrons, in semicentral Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC. Heavy quarks are propagated in a Quark-Gluon Plasma using a relativistic Langevin simulation with drag and diffusion coefficients from elastic interactions with light anti-/quarks and gluons, including non-perturbative r...

Measurement of longitudinal flow decorrelations in Pb+Pb collisions at and 5.02 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Measurements of longitudinal flow correlations are presented for charged particles in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 2.4 using 7 μb−1 and 470 μb−1 of Pb+Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 and 5.02 TeV, respectively, recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. It is found that the correlation between the harmonic flow coefficients vn measured in two separated η intervals does not factorise into the pr...

Measurement of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in p–Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV

Article history: Received 12 October 2015 Received in revised form 12 November 2015 Accepted 21 December 2015 Available online 31 December 2015 Editor: L. Rolandi The production of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays was measured as a function of transverse momentum (pT) in minimum-bias p–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. The measurement covers the pT...
